Wrigley Field for baseball

2/10

City: Chicago, Illinois

Opened: 1914

Capacity: 41,159

Cost: $250,000

History:

No other stadium on our list can boast a more iconic outfield fence (besides maybe Fenway) than the ivy backdrop of the Chicago Cubs. Rich in history and diehard fans, Wrigley is one of the most breathtaking places to watch a game, but don’t go hoping to see the Cubbies win because you’ll probably be disappointed. A wise man once told me that the only thing more certain than death and taxes, are the Cubs falling short of expectations. Sorry Cubs fans…I’m not buying the whole curse of the Billie-goat.

Reason to Go:

Please don’t go to catch a foul ball in a playoff game over the top of Moises Alou. It didn’t work out to well for the last guy (Bartman), or the Cubs for that matter. Go to find out which celebrity will be singing “Take me out to the Ball Game” during the seventh inning stretch, and sit along the ivy covered outfield fence for a chance to catch a home run from the opposing team…and then throw it back.
